The Global Story

Whilst SURRENDER:12 is looking at word and actions in our local neighbourhood – we will also be exploring what it means to be global citizens and neighbours to the Pacific. At SURRENDER:12, we are priviledged to have speakers CB Samuel from India and Sereki Korocowiri from Fiji, along with many others sharing their stories and experiences from a developing world perspective.

CB Samuels, a theologian and Indian citizen, brings a unique perspective on what a Christian leader from the Global South has to say to Christians in the west. CB will share his understanding of Jesus’ parables about money and riches, as well as bringing his perspective on consumerism and it’s influence on the Western Church.

Sereki Korocowiri brings his stories of growing up in our neighbouring country of Fiji. Sereki has seen and experienced the issues for young people across the Pacific – in Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, The Solomon Islands, PNG, Vanuatu and the Cook Islands. Sereki brings stories of youth leaders across the Pacific who research the needs in their community and develop practical projects to respond to these needs. To find out more, read an article about the work of Ola Fou.

To hear these stories and the message that CB and Sereki have to bring to Australia – come along to SURRENDER:12 ‘Hope Speaks, Hope Acts’. Register today!
