Concern Australia Djaywunti Just Salvos
Concern Australia

Concern Australia is in the business of transforming lives of young people – both marginalised young people that society has forgotten or rejected and disconnected and disoriented young people growing up in a values vaccum in primary and secondary schools.

Concern Australia is the Christian mission and youth outreach organisation that grew from the radical ministry of Dr John Smith and the volunteer work of God’s Squad members and their families with youth on the streets, in schools and in prison.

Djaywunti

djaywunti is a play on the initials- J 1 T: these initials stand for Jesus One Time. One time in many Indigenous communities denotes completeness. In Scripture we read, “so Christ was offered as a sacrifice one time to take away the sins of many people…” (Hebrews 9:28 NCV).

djaywunti is supported by the Queensland Baptists to work across denominational and geographical boundaries, focussing on partnering to advance the Gospel in our Indigenous communities (remote, rural and urban). We have established an Indigenous Leadership Fund to gather gifts, grants and fund raising to meet the costs of leadership training and development.

Just Salvos

Just Salvos is the arm of The Salvation Army that seeks to mobilise people towards justice. We do this through education, mission immersions experiences, creating global access, networks, campaigns, resources, speaking, teaching, and creating and celebrating models of justice in local communities. We also seek to inform the organisation of advocacy opportunities, and actively work in partnerships towards a just society in Australia and the world.

TEAR Australia UNOH Urban Seed
TEAR Australia

TEAR Australia is a movement of Christians in Australia responding to the needs of poor communities around the world. Our motivation comes from our belief that God loves all people, and in Christ offers them the opportunity of a new life. We believe that God is just, and has particular care for the poor and those who suffer as victims of injustice.

We work in partnership with other Christian groups which are working with the poor in their communities. We seek to build effective relationships with these partners, grounded in mutual respect, trust and accountability.

In Australia, we work to inform and empower Christians, in partnership with local churches, to make a Biblically-shaped response to suffering and oppressed communities.

Vision

Communities of healing, hope and justice.

Values

  • We are inspired by the love of Jesus Christ.
  • We seek wholeness and transformation in all creation, with priority for the poor.
  • We are committed to small groups living in local communities.
  • We value people in all their diversity and interdependence.
  • We are good stewards of the resources we are given.
Urban Seed is keen to develop partnerships of mutual well-being with Indigenous groups and their people. These partnerships are to be built on relationship, respect and justice.  We are in the process of beginning this journey as an organisation and we expect/hope to make this a core value of Urban Seed in the near future.

VCCE
VCCE

The VCCE began as the Victorian Sunday School Union in 1871. Its concern was for the religious education of ‘children of the ragged poor’ at a time when state education was being made free, compulsory and secular.

Today the Victorian Council of Christian Education continues its mandate of educating leaders and teachers across the denominations by initiating Christian education programs, undertaking the development, publication and distribution of resources and encouraging communication between the church and community agencies.
