This year, pastors have the opportunity to attend a Professional Standards Workshop during the Friday at SURRENDER with Mick Duncan. The two-part session will look at a model for self care within ministry, as well as a framework for pastoral care that enables pastors to walk positively and helpfully with broken and marginalised people.

Speaker: Mick Duncan is a highly sought after speaker in NZ & Aus having engaged in church planting, mercy ministries, community development and justice making from NZ to the slums of Manila.

Topics will include unpacking and applying some of these issues:

  • spiritual, emotional, physical and mental health
  • positive ways to build practical and loving relationships
  • models and tools for understanding relational and life issues
  • practical training in walking alongside broken people
  • being at our best with complex people
  • evangelism amongst the broken
  • how to reflect Christ to the broken and vulnerable

This is an accredited Professional Standards Training for Pastoral Leaders with the Baptist Union of Victoria, Churches of Christ in Victoria and Tasmania and the Community Christian Churches of Australia.
