He is no fool who gives what he can not keep to save what he will not lose…
— Jim Elliot

Welcome to SURRENDER! Even though SURRENDER is a conference, it’s also an invitation. An invitation to SEE powerlessness and poverty locally and globally, to HEAR God’s heartbeat for justice and to JOIN with the Jesus who pours out his life in loving the lost and least. It’s about going on the journey together in unity with His Spirit … the journey of SURRENDER.

In the Mix Session at S:10

February 18th, 2010

This year at SURRENDER:10 we’ve created In the MIX Sessions. In the MIX Sessions give you the freedom to choose… do you want to go deeper with a particluar speaker in a ‘Hear Me. Conversation’ or get stuck into practical actions in a ‘Join Me. Action’ session? Would you rather chill-out with some great artists giving laid back, cut down performances in the Second Stage or just spend time in contemplation in the Soul Space? We’ve also got counsellors available for some one-on-one de-briefing if you feel like some guidance or of course, you can simply find a spot of grass, lie back and watch the clounds go by!

Slum Survivor @ SURRENDER:10

January 26th, 2010

Our good friends at TEAR Australia will be running ‘Slum Survivor’ at SURRENDER:10!

Every day, over 1 billion people have to survive in the growing slums in many of the world’s cities.

The basics of life can be very hard to come by. Houses are built from scraps of timber, plastic and cardboard. Toilets may be non-existent or shared by hundreds of people. Piped water is a luxury that people in slums can’t afford.

This is reality for over a billion people on our planet. Imagine if it was your reality.

Slum Survivor is a simulation experience designed to help young people :

  • get a taste of what life might be like in a slum
  • reflect on God’s concern for the poor
  • start thinking about how they can respond

There is a selection process for this experience and a limited number of spaces so apply now!

Participants will need to commit to the simulation for the entire weekend.

Complete the form on the TEAR website to apply for Slum Survivor at SURRENDER:10
