‘He is no fool who gives what he can not keep to save what he will not lose…’
— Jim Elliot
Welcome to SURRENDER! Even though SURRENDER is a conference, it’s also an invitation. An invitation to SEE powerlessness and poverty locally and globally, to HEAR God’s heartbeat for justice and to JOIN with the Jesus who pours out his life in loving the lost and least. It’s about going on the journey together in unity with His Spirit … the journey of SURRENDER.

Happy New Year to you all! At SURRENDER, we are extremely excited about the year ahead and the opportunities to engage in the radical call of Jesus to the margins. We are kicking off the year with two Truth Labs with our good friend Shane Claiborne in Sydney and Melbourne, as well meeting our six new interns who are about to embark on Journey Toward SURRENDER – our summer orientation for young adults. And of course the SURRENDER:12 conference is only 10 weeks away!
As we begin the year, make resolutions and seek to form new habits, may we be reminded of the words of Mother Teresa who said: “Today it is fashionable to talk about the poor. Unfortunately, it is not fashionable to talk with them.” This year, may we seek to find ways to be like Jesus as ‘The Word became flesh and moved into the neighbourhood’. Let’s journey together towards more truth, more justice and more love.
